OUR HISTORY
A story that begins in the heart of the countryside
It all began in 1998, among the green mountains and inspiring sunrises of El Doncello, Caquetá. There, two Colombian entrepreneurs combined their dreams and knowledge to learn the ancient art of cheese making, giving rise to what is now Quesos La Florida. With vision and hard work, they rented a small artisanal manufacturing plant, where they began to produce blocks of quesillo and double cream cheese. Soon, they fell in love with the craft and perfected their technique, transforming fresh milk into cheeses full of flavor and authenticity.
From that corner of southern Colombia, their products traveled to the traditional market in Cali, bringing not only delicious foods, but also a history of hard work, tradition, and love for the countryside. That’s how Quesos La Florida was born: a company forged with patience, respect for milk, and the conviction that when something is done well, done with soul, it always finds its way.
Over time, that seed began to blossom. Shortly thereafter, they made a strategic decision: to open a secondary commercial and production headquarters in Cali, in the Alameda neighborhood. There, they packaged their cheeses in new presentations, organized their first offices, and prepared for growth. Soon, their flavor conquered the Valley, the Coffee Region, and beyond.
In 2002, they made the leap to the retail channel. They innovated with vacuum packaging and thermoforming technologies and expanded their portfolio with new products such as mozzarella, farmer, and coastal cheese. Always with the same promise: quality, freshness, and that flavor that connects us with the essential.
In 2004, they returned to their roots to strengthen them: they moved their main plant to their own warehouse in Puerto Rico, Caquetá, modernizing their processes without losing their artisanal essence. Later, they moved their headquarters from Cali to a larger and more functional space, and in 2019 they opened a distribution center in Bogotá, bringing them even closer to millions of Colombian households. Today, more than 27 years later, we continue to grow with the same spirit with which we were born: honoring the countryside, working alongside more than 1,000 cattle ranchers in Caquetá, and committed to quality, service, and nutrition for Colombians.

Timeline
1998
Founded in El Doncello, Caquetá. The two founders rent a small production plant for double cream cheese and quesillo cheese blocks.
2002
Entry into the retail channel with a broader portfolio, thermoformed and vacuum packaging. It represents a leap to a new commercial level, equipped with better technology and distribution.
2004
Construction of own production plant in Puerto Rico, Caquetá. Industrial consolidation with our own facilities offering greater capacity and higher standards.
2006
Relocation of the Alameda plant to the new warehouse in Flora Industrial, Cali. (current CEDI)
2016
Achievement of ISO 9001:2015 and HACCP certifications. External validation of quality and safety, facilitating business with large chains.
2024
Consolidated national presence in more than 15 capital cities. Tangible result of sustained growth and long-term commercial strategy.
